"My Electrolux career began by coincidence. I first started considering applying for a job with this company while waiting for my working visa to Singapore. Due to my international trading and logistic experience I applied for a position in the Shanghai Purchasing Center. After few months of working for Electrolux, I gained considerate knowledge and actually became inspired by this company. I decided to give up the working visa and stay. After six years of working for Electrolux, I am sure I made the right decision.
During my time at Electrolux I spent almost 3 years in my home country China and the other half in Australia, a country fully new from the beginning, but familiar now. While working in China taught me the basic skills of purchasing and business understanding, working in the manufacturing environment in Australia is giving me the opportunity to explore the operational purchasing. It also builds and strengthens my product technical knowledge, which was completely lacking in my academic background.
The great opportunity to work as an expatriate within a company but in different countries and cultures brings a lot to both my professional and personal development. Meeting people from different areas and work or live with them has helped to broaden my vision and change to a more open, tolerant and objective person."
